Financial Services Business Analyst
This
position reports to the Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.
Position
Summary:
This person
serves as the primary representative of the Financial Services unit
on all development projects. Responsibilities include preparing the
Financial Services Requirements, preparing test conditions and ensuring
the ultimate quality of the project for all aspects of Financial Services,
including BPO workflow processes.
Responsibilities
and Duties:
- Create
and maintain regression test bed of financial transactions to improve
the quality of project deliverables while reducing overall testing
effort
- Participate
in establishment of services and service levels with customers, including
processing guides
- Review
product specifications and establish the requirements for Financial
Services
- Provide
back-up support for the Manager of Financial Services and help train
the staff, as required
- Represent
the Financial Services area in all internal and external audits and
lead the effort to obtain SAS 70 and Sarbanes/Oxley certification
- Understand
the accounting requirements and functionality of all customers and
ensure that they are accurately documented
- Assist
with responding to customer inquiries regarding the processing of
financial transactions
Education/Experience
Requirements:
- Five
plus years of experience with insurance company accounting, preferably
with both fixed and variable products, in a senior role. Should have
experience with STAT, GAAP and Tax Accounting, and preparing blue
and green blanks.
- Experience
with implementation of fixed and variable insurance products focusing
on the testing of financial transactions and the requirements of financial
reporting
- Comfortable
with the creation of test conditions, the verification of results
and the building of regression test beds
- Knowledge
of financial regulations as they apply to insurance companies, including
FASB and IRS guidelines
- Experience
with internal and external audit functions and requirements to satisfy
SAS 70 and SOX guidelines for control certification
- Accounting
Degree or equivalent experience. CPA preferred
- Excellent
communication skills and proven ability to train and share knowledge
with others
- Ability
to manage multiple tasks and succeed in a fast-moving, growing company
environment
- Demonstrated
track record of participating in aggressive project schedules and
meeting deadlines
