Software Engineer

This position reports to the Client Development Manager.

Position Summary:

This person is responsible for major software development/modification efforts, and assists other software engineers in resolving technical issues. This person performs technical analysis, prepares detailed technical specifications, is proficient with a wide variety of languages, operating systems and tools, and works with little or no supervision

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Provides leadership in guiding McCamish and client team members to successful development conclusion
• Demonstrates the ability to plan, organize and document development activities
• Performs technical analysis, prepares detailed technical specifications, formulates development plans and integrates various disciplines to achieve assigned goals
• Monitors project schedules, identifies potential project variations and reacts to keep project on time and within budget
• Communicates with McCamish management regarding project status, identifies potential issues that may impact project success
• Ensures that McCamish Systems development and documentation standards are followed
  

Education/Experience Requirements:

• Degree in computer science, information systems, business management or related field preferred
• Seven years of software development experience in a UNIX, Linux, or Windows environment
• Five years of experience in a 4GL environment
• Provides leadership, builds and directs teams, schedules and tracks multidisciplinary activities, resolves conflicts, and interfaces with corporate team members at all levels
• Demonstrates ability to direct concurrent activities
• Has solid understanding of budget and accounting principals
• Possesses strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
  

Desirable Qualifications:

Experience in insurance, annuities or mutual funds
