Business Analyst
This
position reports to the Director of Program Services.
Position
Summary:
This person
serves as a product and industry expert advisor in providing complex
business and processing expertise for McCamish products. This person's
primary area of expertise includes variable annuities, variable life
and corporate insurance markets, and specializes in directing new product
development in the areas of business and system design, and the support
of existing systems and clients.
Responsibilities
and Duties:
- Applies
expert systems analysis and design techniques to develop specifications
and provide direction for functionality. Guides internal staff and
clients in formulating requirements.
- Maintains
and modifies complex systems or develops new subsystems
- Oversees
test plan development and participates in unit testing in coordination
with developers
- Provides
multiple levels of support to various segments of the client's required
system design
- Provides
direction and leadership to business analysts. Focuses on teamwork
and guides individuals on advanced interpersonal skills. Provides
industry expertise.
- Resolves
critical and complex problems through the development of specialized
solutions
- Develops
new methodology to direct the design of business and system functionality.
Leads a design subgroup providing specialized and highly complex systems
design. Establishes
the framework of the computer systems from feasibility studies to
post-implementation evaluation.
- Operates
independently with little or no supervision
- Leads
the development of documentation and training materials. Provides
expertise and training on complex issues to internal and external
clients.
Education/Experience
Requirements:
- Six
plus years in the insurance, annuity, or mutual funds industries and/or
three plus years experience with McCamish Systems or related products
- In-depth
knowledge of the annuity/variable product administration and/or corporate
insurance administration industries
- Excellent
skills in team building and client management
- Ability
to work independently with little or no direction
- Strong
communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrates ability to
mentor
- Ability
to work in a team environment, track and report on task activities,
and interface with corporate team members
